Massilia Cup Inshore 2026
This was my first opportunity to cover the Massilia Cup Inshore 2026, organized by CNTL in Marseille, and to work alongside photographer and videographer Yohan Brandt. The regatta took place from March 19 to 22 in the Bay of Marseille.
Several classes, representing 115 boats, were divided across three race areas (Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie). The courses included windward-leeward formats (banana, Olympic courses…) as well as coastal races.
The use of dynamic buoys from Mc Marine Concept – MC Monaco Plaisance by Charles Terrin, makes it possible to set racecourses without anchoring constraints in deep waters, while also protecting the seabed.
Weather conditions were favorable during the first two days of racing, Friday and Saturday, with sunshine and moderate winds. On Sunday, rain and strengthening winds created more challenging conditions, offering superb photographic opportunities around Riou Island in the Calanques and within the Frioul archipelago.
A great team at CNTL Marseille, a warm welcome, and an outstanding sailing venue.
