No way forward. We had to get to Gokyo and climb its summit, Gokyo Ri (4900m), for acclimatization. A storm breaks! We turned back in 30cm of powder and took refuge in the village of Phortse. Early in the morning, we marvel at the magnificent, idyllic scenery around the lodge.
