Perched on the south bank of the Imja Khola, on the mountainside at the foot of Kangtega (6,782 m), the village of Tengboche welcomes monks, pilgrims, and trekkers throughout the year.
During the Mani Rimdu festival, the small prayer hall is reserved for monks and monastery dignitaries; an another journey is needed to observe the sacred space.
