Kathmandu enjoys strong sunshine throughout the year, except during the monsoon season, usually from May to the end of August, when rainfall is frequent. Nepalese people consume large amounts of newspapers to stay informed.
To meet this demand, recycling is essential to save water and wood. The process requires a period of drying, and hundreds of sieves of recycled paper are laid out to dry in the sun in the courtyard of this small local workshop.
