A beautiful Winter in the Himalayas is an invitation to physical and spiritual journeys in a fascinating, astonishing, timeless and magnificent country. This multi-faceted country exudes benevolence, naturally imposed by the smiles and kindness of its inhabitants. The Himalayan range makes us dizzy, evokes the immeasurable and places us back in its immensity.
This testimonial is the result of a rediscovery of the Everest region
during the winter of 2013. You need to experience Nepal and its high
mountains several times over to begin to understand the powerful force
of this country wedged between Tibet and India, the two Asian giants.
Whether in the noisy capital or in the mineral desert of the high mountains, these places make me feel alive, joyful, happy and light, and fill me with incredible energy. Everything about it is magical: the mysteries are bewitching, the encounters enriching, the landscapes elusive and pure.
Walking is a true meditation, an invitation to formidable instrospection. And this proposed itinerary is a journey in full
“consciousness”, a stroll that encourages us to set off again as soon as
we return. It's an inner and outer adventure that flows with the
weather and the physical elements. Your body will sometimes feel heavy,
your breathing jerky, but your heart and mind will become light and
serene.
The route: It's very
often that we land and take off again from Nepal's capital, Kathmandu.
We visit the city and its surroundings to immerse ourselves in the
different Indo-Nepalo-Himalayan cultures and religions. We prepare our
gear and finalize our paperwork.
A certain eagerness propels us onto a plane or bus bound for the
long-awaited trek. After a few hours' transport, we're now in the heart
of a region of magnificent peaks, ready to discover or rediscover these
timeless environments, an inner journey and the means to discover
ourselves physically.
An aficionado of Nepal, I've been trekking the region since 2004. I never tire of it. And the same choice of route is different from one year to the next, as this country evolves and forbidden valleys gradually open up to us tourists.
